
Mrs. Quigley began her teaching career at J.W. Neal Middle School in Durham, NC where she taught for three years. In 1997 she was named the Director of Bands at Graham High School in Graham, NC. In 2002, Quigley accepted the position as Director of Bands and Cultural Arts Department Chairperson at Cedar Ridge High School.
During Mrs. Quigley’s tenure at Cedar Ridge High School, band enrollment has increased from 28 students to 140 students in just five years. Ensembles at Cedar Ridge include the following: Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, two Jazz Bands, and Marching Band. These ensembles have performed concerts and participated in festivals throughout the central area of North Carolina garnishing only excellent and superior ratings adjudicated festivals. The Wind Symphony has received only straight superior ratings at the NC Band Festival for all four years of their existence and performed at the North Carolina Music Educator’s Conference in 2006.
Numerous Cedar Ridge band students have also been participants in the Central District All-District Bands, the North Carolina Honors Band, the Eastern Region All-District Jazz Band, the N.C. All-State Jazz Band, the UNC All-Carolina Band, the UNCG Carolina Honors Band, the WCU Honors Band, the Elon University Honors Jazz Band, and the UNCG North Carolina Honors Jazz Band. Graduates of the Cedar Ridge band program are currently active participants in the band programs at Appalachian State University, Greensboro College, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University and East Carolina University, with several of those graduates pursuing careers in music.
Mrs. Quigley served as the chairperson of the Central District High School All-District Band Clinic from 2000-2010. She has also served as the chair and site host of the Central District Middle School Concert Band Festival from 2004-2006, the Central District West High School Band Festival from 2008 to present, and Central Region Jazz Band Clinic in 2008. Additionally, she served as a member at large on the Board of Directors for the Central District Band Association from 2000-2003 and is currently serving as the Secretary for this organization, a post she has held since 2004. In the spring of 2006 Mrs. Quigley was featured in the Conn-Selmer Keynotes Magazine as their “Director of Note”. Patricia was named the North Carolina Central District Band Director of the Year in 2005 and was selected as the Central District’s 2006 Award of Excellence recipient. Additionally, she is a member of MENC and Sigma Alpha Iota, Women’s International Music Fraternity.
Mrs. Quigley and her husband, Eric, are the proud parents of one son, Eric Jr.
